A long story of my relationship with Alex Madonna but never meeting him.

I grew up in San Luis Obispo and raised by my Aunt Ann and Uncle Morris.

Uncle M. was M.J. Smith, manager of a wholesale produce company on Higuera street. Uncle M. used to tell us about hiring a young truck driver when he needed additional help…. Yes Alex Madonna.  I never met him.

After graduation from San Luis high and Cal Poly I moved to Los Angeles.

I met my wife, settled on a sales profession with an international company & became District manager of Sales for 11 western states. Then came the 25th high school reunion.  Yep,  a banquet at the then fairly new Madonna Inn.  Wow! What an event and at a fabulous location.  Eve got to see the talked about men’s urinal.

During the visit I spied and industrial hardware business that … yes owned by Madonna.   I proposed making them a Parker Hannifin distributor.  When my management turned down my proposal I again failed to meet Alex Madonna.

Well I am now retired and have returned to my roots with my beautiful wife of over 66 years.  Although we have been to several meals to the Inn we never really went for an “Occasion” dinner.  It was time!  This picture is us having one of the most delicious, well served, fun dining events of our marriage.  We even spent a few memorable minutes dancing to the band adjoining the dining room.  Not bad for an old guy over 90 years old and of course a much younger wife.
