Room 145: Highway Suite
Alex Madonna's passion was heavy construction... building highways throughout California. The “Highway Suite” commemorates several job sites with personal photo’s sharing this facet of his life. The large stone boulders featured in the fireplace were recovered from local highway construction projects adding to the novelty of this room. Natural rock is also used in the shower to compliment the theme. The balcony creates an inviting outdoor space with views of the rolling hills and countryside bordering the Alex Madonna Highway. This cozy room, filled with memorabilia, is a signature room located on the 2nd floor of the hilltop unit.

Room 146: Mini Maxi
This room got its nick-name “Mini Maxi” by accident when the hilltop unit was unveiled. During the first year, to celebrate its Grand Opening, guests who stayed in this room could pay on a sliding scale...starting with a set minimum rate, not to exceed a set maximum rate. This minimum/maximum concept created both curiosity and appeal. On average, guests paid somewhere in-between! Even though this offer was only valid for one year...the nick-name remains today.
Set back against the mountain on the 2nd floor, this room is ideal for an anniversary, honeymoon or any special occasion. Adorned in passionate, glittering colors, the king bed is positioned in front of an elaborate rock fireplace...creating soft shadows of light during the evening. A cozy sitting area and a rock shower for two, complete the romantic theme of this semi-suite.

Room 216: Matterhorn
The Matterhorn is perhaps the most familiar mountain in the European Alps. The mountain derives its name from the German words “matte” meaning valley of the meadow and “horn” which means peak. Our rendition of this famous mountain is one of our more popular rooms. Washed in cool tones of snow blue, this room is truly charming with a touch of whimsy. An authentic cow bell, just inside the door, was used by the herdsmen to beckon the cows home each night from the meadows. The stained glass window depicts the grandeur and beauty of the majestic Swiss Alps and the private outdoor balcony provides an airy view of our own Madonna Mountain. The room has a king bed and natural rock shower.
